An aura is the invisible part of presence. It’s what you sense when a woman enters a room, in the way she moves and the freedom with which she takes up space. The sculptures of Aura Gold move with her like talismans. For a moment, sunlight reveals a little of her own light.

Aura Gold grew out of this idea. I wanted to give that invisible presence a form through gold leaf, a material that changes with every shift of light.

In one headpiece, fine branches reach upwards, with fragments of gold catching the light at their tips. Another opens like a wing, its edges lighting up as the head turns. Elsewhere, a curved line traces an orbit around the head, recalling the halo that appears when the sun is just out of sight.
